Ekasi Stars: A Township Story

As the FIFA 2010 World Cup marketing machine gets underway, a small community on the outskirts of Cape Town prepares for its own football competition. The excitement is tempered by poverty and overhanging threat of eviction; a stark reminder of the ongoing disparity in the shadow of Cape Town’s Table Mountain. Wandile Tonqa, a boy from this community feels these challenges. In his final year at school he must find a job to support himself and his sister in their small shack.
